Merry Christmas!
Hello friends and family! We're glad you made it over to our blog so we could update you on what we are up to. We have had an exciting year with four kids, three schools, two big trips for Paul, and one new house to plan!
Aaron (14) is a freshman at Logan High School. He joined the cross country team and enjoyed lots of good runs and lots of good friends. He continues to play the cello and takes piano lessons when his teacher (his Mom) remembers to teach him. He started a lawn-care business last summer and liked making, spending, and saving money. For Christmas, Aaron wants an A in English.
Jacob (11) is a sixth grader at Mt. Logan Middle School. He's done a great job getting used to 7 class periods, a locker, and riding the bus. He is passionate about BYU football, gourmet cooking, and Mexican candy. He is a great violist and pianist and was excited to join our church choir for Christmas. For Christmas, Jacob wants a partridge in a pear tree.
Anna (9) is a fourth grader at Wilson Elementary. She loves ballet and was excited to dance the Spanish Dance in her Nutcracker Tea Performance wearing a brand-new costume! She loves reading and is tackling thick books like Harry Potter for fun. She likes piano and singing and playing the violin in her school orchestra. For Christmas, Anna wants a million bucks.
Jackson (18 months) is our little tornado who seeks adventure and everything dangerous, poisonous, and not-for-human consumption (like dog food). He loves climbing on chairs, tables, stairs, couches, and jumping between high places. Thankfully, he loves books, so we know he is safe for at least 20 minutes each day. His current favorite 'toy' is our Kitchen Aid mixer, which he plays with on the floor almost daily. He is hilarious and as lovable as he is terrifying. For Christmas, Jackson wants to eat a bowl of dog food in peace.
Paul (not-quite-to-mid-life-crisis) is working so hard at IBM as a Product Manager. His roles include identifying needs and defining features in new IBM software. He travels a bit for work, his two biggest trips this year being LONDON(!) and New York(!). He coached Jacob's football team this year and got a new titanium knee in May, which is holding up to basketball games with the boys. For Christmas, he wants BYU to hire a coach that can beat Utah.
Amy (29 or so), keeps the Lacey train moving and loves having a big, busy family. With every child-development stage under one roof, there's never a dull moment in motherhood. Add in a couple music projects (one coming by Christmas), serving in Young Women's at church, and keeping tabs on an energetic beagle, and she has a very full life. For Christmas, she wants a long winter nap.
Our biggest news of the year is that we are building a house in River Heights, Utah! We sold our Las Vegas house this fall and decided to move forward building on a beautiful .43 acre lot with gorgeous mountain views in a cul-de-sac. They dug the hole November 30, and we expect a completion by May, likely moving in the first week of June. We will be updating this blog with house progress if you like seeing the process. Below is a drawing of what our house will look like and a couple pictures of what the lot looked like on day 6.
Merry Christmas to all our family and friends. We love you all and treasure the memories with each of you over the years. We hope that as you celebrate Christ's birth, you will be filled with peace and joy this Holiday Season. May your days be merry and bright!
Love,
The Logan Laceys
