The Lacey House Part II: March 21 - May 30, 2016

Here's the latest from the last two months on the progress our house.  We're excited to see it take shape.  Another month and we should be ready to move in!

March 21, 2016. Framing is all complete. Electrical work is underway.
March 27, 2016. House wrap is on.
March 27, 2016. Memo to self: if I ever need to dig in my front yard, 1 - call Blue Stakes; 2 - look at this picture to note location of electrical main.
March 27, 2016. Here's a view of the back and side of the house
March 27, 2016. View of the back of the house.
March 27, 2016.  Amy is adorable!
March 29, 2016. Framing for the fireplace is complete.
March 29, 2016. Front door is installed. We love the side-light windows on the entry.
March 29, 2016. And here we thought it was Springtime. Silly us. :-/
April 1, 2015. Choosing flooring and counter top styles for the master bathroom.
April 2, 2016. Fireplace installed.
April 6, 2016. Insulation getting installed.
April 7, 2016.  Choosing the granite for our kitchen countertops.  We went back and forth on this for awhile, but decided on the "Steel Gray" for most of our kitchen counters (which will be used with the white cabinets), and "Silver Cloud" to be used on our black island.
April 11, 2016. Choosing the tile to go around our fireplace.
April 11, 2016. Sheet rock is installed.  This was the first time we really got a good feel for how each room would look when finished.  Exciting!
April 22, 2016. Paul's office.
April 12, 2016.  Part of the patio got poured.  There was a miscommunication where they referred to an older version of the plans. The patio will be a little deeper and quite a bit wider.
April 12, 2016. Front steps and sidewalk are poured.
April 17, 2016. Our kids already love playing together in the new house.
April 17, 2016. Anna next to the "tall wall" in the dining room area.
April 17, 2016. And behind door #1... We're planning on putting an entry table here and wanted to get a feel for how wide it could be.
April 17, 2016. Someone is excited for her room!
April 17, 2016. We love the windows in our master bedroom (just ignore the pile of stuff in the floor!).
April 17, 2016.  We love going over to the house on Sunday afternoons to see the progress.
April 17, 2016.  Paul's office. Jackson likes to be at the house, but doesn't like to be held.  He was just wanting to climb up all of the scaffolding!
April 20, 2016. View from the street.

April 20, 2016. Here's a tour through the house.

April 26, 2016. We have doors! These are the French doors into Paul's office.
April 26, 2016. Doors. We love how excited Anna is about every phase of her room.
April 26, 2016.  Queen of the mountain!
April 26, 2016. We are excited for our cubbies in our mud room. One for each one of the kids. :-)
May 2, 2016.  Anna and Paul had fun refinishing a garage-sale find for her room.
May 5, 2016. Our fireplace is framed up.
May 5, 2016. We wanted the place under the stairs to be a fun play place for the kids.  Immaculate did a great job framing up the mini door and window.
May 8, 2016. Jackson loves his little man cave under the stairs.
May 8, 2016. Jackson loves playing hide-and-go-seek throughout the house with his brothers and sister.  We found him hiding in his closet!
May 17, 2016.  The house is painted!  After a mix-up where the wrong color was used, we now have "Gray Screen" throughout most of the house.  It's hard to capture the color accurately with the camera, but we love the contrast between the gray and the white trim.
May 19, 2016. We have cabinets! Jensen's Cabinets (Providence, UT) did a fantastic job creating our cabinets. We went with white Shaker cabinets and a black island.
May 19, 2016. Pull-out garbage/recycling cans.

May 19, 2016.  The kitchen is taking shape.
May 19, 2016. Master bath cabinetry.
May 19, 2016. Anna's window seat with pull-out drawers.
May 21, 2016.  We went to the paint store and got a few samples so Anna could decide on what shade of turquoise she wanted for her room.  When I opened the car door, one of them fell out, and the lid popped off. Whoops.
May 21, 2016.  That's gonna leave a mark! If anyone wants to know which house is ours, just look for the big blotch of turquoise asphalt!
May 21, 2016.  Anna, ready to start painting her room.
May 21, 2016.  We first needed to compare a few different shades.  Here is "Gentle Aquamarine."
May 21, 2016.  Here's Anna applying the first test coat.

May 21, 2016. "Bora Bora Shore" or "Gentle Aquamarine"?? Decisions, decisions.

May 21, 2016.  So, the two colors we tested were a little too dark.  We went with "Spa", a shade lighter than "Bora Bora Shore".

May 21, 2016. After the first coat on the first wall.  Anna is loving it!
May 21, 2016. Anna was excited to sign her name on her wall.
May 21, 2016. This is the "Paris Room", after all!

May 21, 2016.  First coat is almost done.

May 21, 2016.  Anna was such a trooper.  9:30 PM and still going strong (after a break for dinner and getting some other things done at home).
May 21, 2016.  All done!
May 21, 2016.  Anna LOVES how it turned out.  She's so excited to finally have her turquoise room!
May 21, 2016. The color with the flash is a little washed out - it's actually has more green, like in the previous pictures.  But just how Anna envisioned it.
May 21, 2016.  Next up: the Nerf/Hot Wheels wall in the toy room!  Here's the look we're going for.  The Nerf side will also host Aaron's black Nerf Wall that we made for him a couple years ago.  Should be fun!
May 26, 2016. Here's the toy room, painted in a light blue. We plan on adding some white cloud cut-outs in a few places.

May 26, 2016. The toy room back wall, up against the Nerf/Hot Wheels wall.

May 30, 2016. The Nerf/Hot Wheels wall completed.  Not the best lighting in the picture, but I love how it turned out.

May 30, 2016. Here's the first coat on Jacob's football wall.  This will have white "yard" lines and white vinyl numbers for yard markers.
